Fishing is fun for all ages (over 8 years old please) and will be enjoyed by the entire family. All trips out of Westport Charters are booked to limited loads to increase the amount of room each angler has aboard our vessel.
Our rockfish and lingcod trips are the best for beginners and fun for the experts. The high limit of seven rockfish, plus 2 lingcod gives everyone plenty of chances to reel one in. They can give you a good fight and taste fantastic.
Our Salmon Bottomfish Combo (Combination Trip) is next up on the list. It is only slightly more difficult than the Rockfish and Lingcod trips for a couple of reasons. When you get a salmon on, they don’t stay put. They go crazy. You will likely have to chase your fish up or down the side of the boat, going over or under your neighbors. Following crew instructions is key here to success.
Next up the skill ladder are the Halibut trips and the Deepwater Lingcod. These trips are not for smaller, more frail people. The gear is heavy, the water is deep, and it takes a lot of effort to bring up a big one from Deepwater with heavy gear. Kids could still come on this trip, but they would need to be older, bigger kids, probably 14 and up.
